The Best Sledding Day

Okay, the kids convinced Scott & I that we should all go sledding. Never mind that I don't have outdoor clothes. Never mind that we only have 3 sleds (2 now!) and have to drive the car & truck to the park to sled. We went...I borrowed snow pants/jacket from Laura Next Door and we loaded up. I think Leah was tired by the time we walked from the car, crossed the steam & climbed the hill. The first couple of trips down were uneventful until Scott sliced open the bottom of the kid's smaller sled on his way down. Oh well, it still worked for sledding this time. Our choice of sledding hills was the closest (although maybe not the safest). The bottom of the hill features a stream if you are lucky enough to go that direction. The other feature is a small wooded area with trees and shrubs. I bet you can guess where this is headed...yes, I am the one that sped down the hill and crashed into the shrubs going backwards. I had to wait for help to pull me out. I was stuck! Fortunately I am fine expect for a few bumps on my head where my barrett smashed into the shrub/small tree. Upon our return home, Seth claimed it was his best sledding day EVER!

A Fabulous Christmas!

Thank you to all that helped make this a special Christmas. We enjoyed sleeping in a little until the kids were all awake (Leah slept until nearly 8 AM)! Of course she doesn't feel very well and is coughing a lot. It wouldn't be Christmas without a little bug to pass around!

The kids say this was the best Christmas ever.

Seth loves his Game Boy Advance games, has nearly completed a large Lego Star Wars set and really thinks his new chair is great.

Leah can't stop dressing up in her Disney Princess outfits (Thanks, Aunt Ashley). I think she would wear them to bed if I would let her. She also loves her Walking Cabbage Patch doll. She went to bed with it and as soon as she was awake, it was talking again...why don't they put volume controls on these toys???

Scott loves his Ghost Hunters & Band of Brothers DVD's! I know he can't wait to watch them on the basement TV.
I really appreciate my new paper trimmer although I haven't made time to stamp yet today. I also love my new black coat, pizza stone (already used it twice!), pink & black satin pj's and can't wait to try the air popcorn popper!

Thank you to all!!! I have to agree with the kids. This was the best Christmas!

It's Christmas Eve...

And everyone is home. We are not so patiently waiting for the satellite repair guy to show up. We haven't had TV at our house for over a week. With Winter Break, it is a must! Seth shared at school that the TV not working was the worst thing that ever happened to him. (I must say lucky him that life is easy!)

We are also busy making our traditional food (egg casserole, carmel rolls & pretzels with M&M faces) to take to MIL's for Christmas breakfast.

I asked Scott what he was most looking forward to at Christmas...time with his family playing games and having fun. This is the one time a year that we put the kids to bed and enjoy ourselves!

My answer was knowing the kids both understand a little more about Christmas this year. I am also looking forward to Christmas Eve services at church. Even though the kids are not singing this year, it is always a special time for me. That probably stems from the Midnight services I always attended growing up. It is magical how united we all can be during this time of year.

Merry Christmas!
